Before I met my current partner I had my fair share of relationships. They were all with people I already knew or had been introduced to though a friend. Every time I split up with someone it was like a thousand hot knives going through my body. Breaking up with someone is not nice and can be oneof the hardest things someone has to do.

After splitting up with my ex, I stayed single for a while, and became an independent women, however I always missed having someone there for me when I got home from work at the end of a hard day, and did begin to feel lonely. A few of my friends had signed up to various dating websites and advised me to check one of them out. I found it a bit strange at first chatting away to someone I had not met, telling them personal things about myself, but it was good too. It was nice to chat to someone but at the same time be completely at ease, no nerves or anything, as it was all online.

Eventually I decided to meet someone I had been talking to on one of the dating websites. Our brief encounter saw us meeting up at my local park in the middle of town where we went for a stroll. It went OK and he seemed nice enough but it was more than obvious the only thing he wanted was to go to bed and I am not the kind of girl that shows a guy my bedroom on the first day, especially as I didn't know very much about him, never met him before and the fact it was because of the dating websites that we had met.

Not ruffled by the meeting with him, I did decided to meet up with another guy I had been talking to. He did sound more my cup of tea. We had exchanged mobile phone numbers so we could talk to each other in the day whilst I was at work. He seemed to good to be true. We had a lot in common and he really made me laugh. We went to the cinema and went on for a drink afterwards. We met at 4pm and before we knew it, it was 11:30 pm and we were being thrown out of the pub. A few days later he came over to my house and cooked me a lovely meal, and we sat up and talked until 7am the next morning. A few weeks later he held me in his arms and told me he loved me in a whisper.

After that we pretty much saw each other everyday, so I deleted my profiles from the dating websites. We are now engaged and living together and still very happy. I would genuinely recommend dating websites to anyone who is looking for love, especially if you are busy working a lot or are a bit too shy to just get out there and meet people in real life.
